1. Little purple pansies, touched with yellow gold,
Growing in one corner of the garden old;
We are very tiny but must try, try, try
Just one spot to gladden, you and I.
2. In whatever corner we may chance to grow,
Whether cold or warm the wind may ever blow,
Dark the day or sunny, we must try, try, try
Just one spot to gladden, you and I.
Not many people know this but this used to be one of my mother's favorite songs from the primary songbook. I can remember singing it all the time. If you think about a flower and how precious, tender and fragile it is then we can liken that to people as well. Are we not all precious, tender and fragile? Do we rip a flower up out of the ground by its roots and discard it or do we water it and take care of it making sure that it has plenty of light , plenty of food and care about it. At what point in life do we stop thinking of everyone as tender and fragile? When do we start using harsh words to describe people? When do we stop caring about other and start caring only about ourselves? It doesn't have to be that way. We can be kind to one another and be happy for everyone. It is called Karma and it really is a good thing. Philosophers over time have discussed the Golden Rule. Treat others as we would like to be treated. Just something to think about.If anyone wants to call me I would be happy to sing Little Purple Pansies for them :)
